Studies on Genetic Variability in Ridge Gourd (Luffa acutangula L. Roxb.) under Prayagraj Agro-Climatic Condition

Aim: To study the genetic variability of ridge gourd uber Prayagraj Agro-climatic condition.
 Study Design: Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD).
 Place and Duration Study: Horticultural Research Farm, Department Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, SHUATS, Prayagraj. Between August 2021 to October 2021.
 Methodology: 11 genotypes fennel were sown in three replications RCB design. In each replication data observed on five plants averaged for all 21 characters under study.
 Results: Analysis variance showed presence significant variation among different studied. Days germination plant height [30DAS] exhibited high estimates GCV PCV both. Genetic parameters revealed that heritability (broad sense) was fruit yield per hectare, [30DAS], length, [60DAS], days first harvest fruits, germination, leaf sex ratio, girth, plant, male flowering, shelf life, Vitamin C content number primary branches plant. Fruit broad sense coupled with values advance as percent mean.
 Conclusion: Selection these traits will lead higher efficiency breeding programme improving yield. Thus may be ranked most important attributing seed fennel.
